Each year Kawerak collects donations to help fund the Foster Care Christmas program. This program depends on the generosity of the donations it receives. Over 60 kids in the state system receive gifts to lighten their spirits and put a smile on their face during this special time of the year. A 30-day public comment period is required for the Bering Strait Region Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) by the Economic Development Administration. The comment period is now open from November 21, 2024 until December 21, 2024. All comments received during this timeframe will be responded to and the Bering Strait Development Council/Kawerak will review for inclusion in the final, adopted version of the CEDS.
